"Wrong State of Mine"
This sculpture was a response to the possibility of Texas implementing a law in 2016 that would force women to either bury or cremate their aborted fetuses. Being a woman from Texas, I felt angry with and alienated from the state in which I was raised. In response, I made an inverted, Texas-shaped fetus grave that I installed in front of the MICA Wellness Center.
